The House
Our old stone Shepherd's House features plenty of character and has been tastefully extended to accommodate 8 adults comfortably. With a fully equipped kitchen, modern amenities and a fantastic pool to enhance your stay, "La Bergerie" is the perfect place to stay for a real feel of Provence.
La Bergerie is situated within 5,000 sq/m of private grounds. The house is full of character with an open fire place and old terracotta tiles.
Downstairs consists of an entrance hall, kitchen/dining room, hall and office area, sitting room and a cloakroom.
Kitchen:
A few steps from the entrance hall lead you down to the large fully equipped kitchen and dining room with terracotta floors. Two sets of French doors lead to the outside dining area which seats up to 10.
Hall/Office area:
The entrance hall also leads to the central hall with an office area. The telephone and broadband are available for your use.
Sitting Room:
The sitting room is located off the central hall. With its welcoming open fire place and old wood beams, it is a cosy place to relax in the winter. During the summer, it stays cool (thanks to its walls which are almost a metre thick) and is perfect for those looking to escape the summer heat. The room is comfortably furnished with some antique furniture, including a traditional large "armoire" cupboard, which houses the toys, games, books, CDs etc. There are 2 sofas, chairs and side tables. You will find the television, DVD player and hi-fi in here. British freeview is available as well as French television. French doors lead out to a large covered terrace.
The First Floor:
This is accessed via a stair case which leads from the central hall. It consists of 4 double bedrooms (one twin & three kings), 2 bathrooms and 1 separate WC.
The twin room, 1 double room and a bathroom containing a shower, separate bath, w/c, sink and ample storage are situated at one end of the 1st floor. Two double rooms are at the other end with a bathroom and separate WC. The 3 double rooms have king size beds. Two travel cots are available upon request and can fit in any of the bedrooms
Gardens and Pool:
The swimming pool area is located slightly away from the house and is accessed via about 10 steps. The pool measures 10x5 metres and has Roman steps for easy access. An alarm has been fitted to the pool to comply with current French regulations.
The pool house has a shower and WC as well as a summer kitchen area with BBQ, sink and fridge. Sun loungers, parasols and pool towels are supplied for your comfort.
The garden is all fenced, so little explorers are safe to roam around. Electric gates give you access to the grounds and there is enough space to park at least 4 cars.
The garden is well stocked with local trees, plants and fauna including oak, olive and pine trees.
Bagnols-en-Foret is a typical, tranquil, provencal hilltop village (300m above sea level) situated at equal distances between the Mediterranean coast at Frejus-St.Raphael and the stunning hinterland town of Fayence.The village is perched in the hills with views over the surrounding countryside, most of which is oak forest, broom and wild thyme fields. It is the perfect village for those who wish to enjoy the sea, the wooded hills, and the charm of a small provencal village. The picturesque streets, the village church dating back to 1707 and the village square with its splendid trees all add to its quiet and relaxed charm.
