This romantic Bar Harbor Bed and Breakfast is perfectly located just a short stroll from Bar Harbor’s Main Street and only a mile from magnificent Acadia National Park.

Built in 1878, the historic Primrose Inn is decorated in a light Victorian style that encourages guests to relax and enjoy their time away. Guests will enjoy the comfortable elegance of spacious rooms, each with a private bathroom, high ceilings, and carefully appointed with antiques and period reproductions. Many rooms feature gas fireplaces, spa tubs, adjoining reading and sitting rooms as well as private balconies and porches.

The Primrose Inn has been enhanced with today’s most requested guest amenities such as luxurious linen and towels, flat-panel televisions with built-in DVD players in each room, central air conditioning, wireless internet access throughout the inn, guest refreshments at no additional cost, and a daily newspaper delivered each room.

Guests of the Primrose Inn will enjoy a hearty full breakfast each morning with a choice of hot entrees served fireside in our dining room or on our outdoor wrap-around front porch. Our popular "Afternoon Tea" features an assortment of freshly baked treats from the Primrose Inn’s kitchen.

Rates & Policies

Room Rates:

Prices range in price from $95 - $245 per night, depending on the room and the season.

Room rates are single or double occupancy and exclude a Maine Lodging Tax of 7%. There are no additional service fees or charges.

Minimum Stay: A 2-night minimum stay is required during the Summer and Fall seasons. Special arrangements can also be made for corporate guests. Advance Deposit: An Advanced Deposit equal to 50% of the room charge (plus a 7% Maine Lodging tax) for the length of stay is required to confirm a reservation. Balance Due: The Balance Due on confirmed reservations is to be paid at Check-in. Acceptable methods of payment at Check-in are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash and travelers checks. Cancellation Policies:

More than 14 days from arrival: The Advance Deposit will be refunded in full..

Less than 14 days from arrival: Due to our short season and limited number of rooms, cancellations made with less than 14 days notice will forfeit the Advance Deposit if we are unable to re-rent the room for the entire period.

Reserved Parking: One reserved parking space is assigned to each room in the Primrose Inn’s private off-street parking lot.Children: Please note that all of our rooms have one queen-size or king-size bed and can only accommodate a total of two guests per room.Smoke-Free Policy: The inn, porches and balconies are completely smoke-free.

Pets: Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets in the inn.

This championship 18-hole public golf course borders Acadia National Park. Although Kebo is the 8th oldest club in the country, it has definitely withstood the test of time. It’s a very challenging links-style course set on a beautiful piece of property.
