Briñas Hotel, Rioja, Spain

In the little village of Briñas in La Rioja, you will discover a superb 18th century manor house, ideally located for golf holidays in Spain. Once the home of a local aristocratic family, today this historic building houses the little hotel Señorío de Briñas, a place where you seem to be able to breathe in the history and splendour of past times. The thick stone walls have been witness to many historic events right up to the Spanish Civil War when it was used as a barracks by the Italian brigade.

Pedro Ortega (an antique restorer) and Angela Gómez (the owner) have restored the hotel in minute detail, enhancing the massively proportioned wood and stonework with a lighter touch of antique furnishings, ceramics, traditional carpets, frescos and some unusual murals by the Polish artist Jull Dziamski. All the guest rooms are light and airy, and each is decorated in its own unique combination of colour and fabrics.

Here in La Rioja, a guest's thoughts soon turn to food and drink, and this is an ideal base from which to sample many excellent restaurants, taste the superb local wines and visit the bodegas, as well as taking in the countryside, seeing all manner of historic places and appreciating all the natural beauties that the area has to offer.

This hotel is well-suited for disabled guests. All the main rooms and four guestrooms are on the ground floor avoiding any stairs or steps, there are handrails in the bathrooms and the doors are wide enough for wheelchairs.

Restaurant
The hotel only serves breakfast and a few bar snacks. There are a couple restaurants in the village, and more in Haro, so finding a place to eat is not difficult. Indeed, trying out various local restaurants is all part of the pleasure of a stay in Briñas.

Hotel Amenities:

The hotel has a bar, lounge, car park and garage.
All rooms have telephone, television, welcome pack, hairdryer, and bathrobes and fully equipped luxurious bathrooms.
