El Recés is located in the Baix Empordà near La Bisbal d'Empordà, between Girona & the Costa Brava Coast. The old village of Corçà is 90km north of Barcelona & 60km south of France. We are on good routes for Girona's championship golf courses; PGA Catalunya, Empordà, Girona, Golf d'Aro, Peralada, Pals & Serres de Pals.

El Recés de Corçà provides comfortable and spacious guesthouse accommodation for relaxing breaks. All rooms are positioned off a central stairway leading upto the top floor guest lounge and terraces.

El Recés is a 15th century Catalan house, which has been renovated to a high specification; part of the house is above the old village Gate and passageway.
Corçà village has a choice of traditional Catalan restaurants & a tapas bar. Girona old town is 20 minutes away and is great to visit daytime or evening.

ALL ROOMS HAVE: Private Bathroom, Fridge, Tea/Coffee Facilities and Breakfast Area

Rooms have unique character, with terraces, patios and balconies. All have private bathrooms, individual or double beds and are spacious enough for 'family' rooms.

Bathrooms have a contemporary design, combining rustic stone with highest specification fittings. The original well now houses a glass-bottomed shower.
The guest lounge and terraces are on the top floors, affording views over the village. The lounge has TV and DVD.

The Catalan countryside is surprisingly green for Spain & medieval villages dot the whole Baix Emporda landscape. It has a feel of Tuscany - but with Championship Golf Courses!  For culture, Girona old town is only half an hour from the  coast & Barcelona is close enough for a visit by car or train from local stations.

Transport can be arranged with car hire, taxis or minibus transfers for groups.

Golf Course Descriptions

Girona & Costa Brava Golf Courses enjoy great all year playing conditions.

PGA CATALUNYA                
PGA Golf de Catalunya is a European Tour Course designed by Neil Coles and Angel Gallardo. The 36 holes have a challenging layout, winding through the forests of the Girona hills. Fir trees and heather line the rolling fairways to large island greens. PGA Catalunya has hosted several professional tournaments and together with Emporda & Pals, are regular PGA European Tour School venues.

EMPORDA                               
A top quality 36 hole complex, Empordà Golf offers 18 holes of forest layout and 18 holes of links/lakes style. The great all year round condition and the different feel of each design, make two rounds at Emporda a good option.

GOLF D’ARO                                 
Golf d'Aro is a stunning course set in the Gavarres hills, high above Platja d’Aro. New ownership in 2006 brought many improvements to the old Mas Nou course, together with an impressive new clubhouse. Golf d'Aro hosted a Ladies European Tour event in 2006. Accurate shots must weave through olive and pine woods and two large lakes add to the difficulty. There are many ravine drops on the course boundries, but lateral water markers ensure the game is enjoyable and keeps play moving well.

Platja de PALS                  
Golf Platja de Pals was the first course to be built in this area In 1966 and has since hosted many National and PGA Tournaments, including the Professional Ladies Catalan Masters in 2005. The narrow fairways cut out of the extensive pine forest make this course the ultimate test of accuracy.
         
GIRONA                                      
Located north of the city, Golf Girona was designed by Fred Hawtree and opened in 1991. A hilly course with forests and ravines to punish any wayward shot. The elevated clubhouse enjoys panoramic views of the course and surrounding area.

SERRES DE PALS              
Although close to Golf Empordà and Platja de Pals in the Baix Emporda, Golf Serres de Pals has a uniquely different feel with open countryside views across to the medieval village of Pals. The natural terrain, large lakes and quiet golf course environment attract more species of birds than the local nature reserves.

PERALADA                            
The most northerly course, Club de Golf Peralada  provides an open landscape with olive trees. The course is always in good condition and the 5* complex with wine spa can make for an enjoyable day trip.

COSTA BRAVA                      
Club de golf Costa Brava is a British designed course lined with pines and cork oaks. The clubhouse is an 1841 Catalan farmhouse.

GUALTA                                          
This 18 hole Par 3 course, is of the highest quality. Trees and lakes provide a great test for approach shots and the well layed greens allow for excellent short game practice. The best covered range in the area completes a great practice facility where several Golf Schools are based. On a main route, close to Emporda GC, the friendly and relaxed atmosphere make it a good practice stop.
