THE ISLAND OF ALBARELLA

Location:
The Island of Albarella is situated within the Po Delta Nature Reserve, between Chioggia (approx 30 km) and Comacchio (approx 45 km).

The Island of Albarella  - 70 km south of Venice- is perfectly integrated in the Po Delta Nature Reserve and  is a unique holiday destination in Europe.  Purchased by the Marcegaglia Group in 1988, the Island of Albarella represents one of the most elegant nature reserves in the Adriatic.

The abundant Natural environment and the availability of many different sports, from golf to water sports will appeal to all holidaymakers whether they are looking for relaxation or entertainment.

The island is shaded by around 2 million trees of 150 different species, including the Cluster Pine and the White Polar (Populus Alba), from which the island derives its name. Albarella is the natural habitat for fallow deer, pheasants, hares, heron, marsh-harries, black winged stilts and egrets. Its entire surface area – both land and water – is under close environmental protection.

HOTEL CAPO NORD
Stands on the far North side of the Island directly on the beach and is surrounded by the Island’s vegetation. It has 42 rooms: single rooms, double and multi rooms, panoramic Restaurant  and breakfast room, from June to August, hotel bar service is available also at the swimming pool and on the beach, large external garden with  Sun loungers  at the beach and bicycles are included in the price

For 2008, the hotel offers both full board or half board options with an English Breakfast Buffet from 7.30 to 10.00 a.m., a lunch-buffet from 12.30 to 2.00 p.m. and  an A la Carte Dinner menu between 7.30 to 9.00 p.m featuring local specialities. On arrival, the client will receive a voucher for a welcome cocktail at the bar, or for a drink in the restaurant.

Hotel Capo Nord  can host banquets, weddings,  congresses and conventions among the Villa Cà Tiepolo – an eighteenth century shooting lodge from the doges of Venice now available for congresses and banqueting.
The famous catering services of Hotel Capo Nord and the perfect organization of the onsite team, makes Villa Cà Tiepolo a perfect place for special events.

Villa Cà Tiepolo has a large external square, the main lobby offers 5 side rooms, on the 1st floor a large lobby divided by arches that are perfect for any video and audio support during conferences, we can host  120 people in theatre style but also for gala dinners up to 130 people    

CLUB HOUSE ALBARELLA and Golf Restaurant
With views of the Golf Course the Club House has 22 double and multi rooms. It offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation with a breakfast buffet served at the bar between 8.00 and 10.00 a.m.. Independent access to the Club House is possible even outside receptions hours (from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.), bicycles are provided by the Hotel  (must be collected at the Island’s bicycle hire firm).
The Restaurant Golf Club offers the possibility to organise banquets for 200 persons in the two restaurants rooms. The wonderful terrace overlooking the Course offers a bar and restaurant service. 

Golf CLUB ALBARELLA
 A unique golf course designed in classic British- style by the English architect Harris, within the splendid scenario of the Venetian Laguna. The 18 hole course overlooking the sea is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty which is very popular amongst the international guests. The Albarella Golf Club is a par 72 course slope rating  of 123 and men course rating - 71,4 , for women 73,5.  

YACHT HARBOUR  MARINA DI ALBARELLA
The Island’s Harbour is recognised as Blue Flag in Europe, - a highly distinguished standard that few resorts can offer -   and has 455 places for boats from 6 to 25 meters which are secure and protected in all weather conditions. The shipyard has a workshop, garaging, fuel service, crane, slipway and bridge crane and in the harbour area there is a  nautical agency, shops and a restaurant-bar.  

CENTRO SPORTIVO
The Sports Centre is located on the beach at the heart of the Island. It has a Restaurant “Le Terrazze di Levante” with sea views which offers self-service at lunch, and restaurant and pizza service for dinner with fish and meat specialities. Bar service is available at the pools, at the discotheque and on the beach.
The Centro Sportivo has 4 swimming pools -  one Olympic size, a discotheque on the beach and a summer pagoda for evening entertainment. The sport & leisure team will organize, from May to September,  entertainment for children, teenagers and adults with games, sport tournaments for every age, aqua gym, aerobics, dance lessons and in the evening -  live shows, cabarets, parties,  and also occasionally national events.

Several important sports events took place during 2007 at Albarella such as the NATIONAL TENNIS TOURNAMENT (UISP LEGA), FOOTBALL INTER-CAMPUS and the BASKETBALL’ S NATIONAL TOURNAMENT (UISP LEGA).

This bureau offers: bicycle and golf cars hire including the maintenance and a cleaning service for apartments and villas during the year.

The Island offers the following additional services: a large and varied catering operation:  Restaurant Mare Vostrum, Restaurant LA Barca, Restaurant Casonetto di Valle, Restaurant La Palancana Spaghetti House, Restaurant Tennis Farm, Café Veneto Restaurant-Bar, Restaurant Golf-Club; 20 different sport activities can be enjoyed on the  Island and 12 sport schools with high technical sports facilities like: 18 holes links Golf Course - one of the most beautiful in Europe, 24 tennis courts, Equestrian Centre, jogging on the fitness trail, Archery, sub and swimming school, sailing and windsurfing school, water skiing school, Mini golf, Bowls, skating and aerobic sessions.

Sporting Fiordi: with Pool, Tennis Court, Swimming school, Table Tennis, Cinema, Snack Bar, 5-a-side football field.
Fiordo Diamante:  with Bar, Ice-Cream Parlour, Tea Shop, Florist’s, Jeweller’s, Laundrette, Golf Car Maintenance and Hardware store, Furniture shop, Albarella shop, Internet Point.
Mare Vostrum Beach: Sandy Beach with services and equipment, Snack Bar with terrace and garden. Water skiing opportunities are available at the Barefoot Club as well as sailing and windsurfing.
Piazzetta Fontana:  Medical surgery, Medical Assistance.
On the Island there are also the following venues: the  “Vip Discotheque”, “Il Rustico” Pub and sandwich bar and the catholic church “ San Nicolao della Flüe”.

Important note: From the 10th May until the 14th September all services on the Island are available. The management if necessary reserves the right to make any changes.

Pets: are not allowed : Credit cards: the major credit cards are accepted : Traffic Restrictions on the Island:  Bicycles are the island’s official means of transport. Cars are only allowed to access accommodation parking (caravans, camper vans and motorbikes are not permitted).

It is possible to book a taxi transfer service at the Reception of Albarella.

Albacard

Is the Island’s internal payment system for all guests. A handy cashless payment system – accepted in many restaurants, shops and sports facilities. The card is collected at the Albarella office next to the Reception with a deposit of minimum € 50,00. The Albacard entitles you to discounts of up 10%. A list of all concerns accepting the card and the size of the discount offered is available on location.

If travelling by air: Marco Polo International airport in Venice (approx 75 km)
If travelling by car: Motorway A4 from Milan to Venice, exit Verona, then the “transpolesana” motorway to Rovigo, continue on to Adria, Loreo and Rosolina; from Bologna motorway A4 direction Padua, exit Rovigo, continue on to Adria, Loreo and Rosolina; from Venice national road “Strada Romea” in the direction of Chioggia, in the commune of Rosolina continue following indications to the Island of Albarella; form Ravenna on the “Strada Romea”, after Porto Viro follow indications on the right for Albarella;
If travelling by train:  Rosolina station is about 15 km. Private taxis are available on request.
