Set high on a Tuscan hill, Casa Torre il Prato is a comfortable 13th Century house artistically restored to provide 5 – 6 bedrooms and 5 shower-rooms, and sleeping up to 12 guests.

This lovely casa colonica, part of which was originally a watchtower, has uninterrupted views of rolling hillsides and medieval vistas, a stone-flagged courtyard with al fresco dining, and a swimming pool set among vineyards and olive groves.

In the heat of the Tuscan summer the house remains tranquil and cool, while effective central heating is available in the winter.

Helpful English-speaking owner lives nearby. Cooking and housekeeping service can be arranged.

Tennis, horse-riding, GOLF , walking, indoor heated swimming pool and gym available locally. Wildlife includes occasional hares, pheasants, boar, a dog and five cats.

Escorted tours and airport pick-up can be arranged. 90 minutes by car from Pisa airport, 40 minutes to Florence.

In addition to the rooms, the house has a dining area which varies with the seasons.  On the first fllor by the fireside in cold weather, on the ground floor, in the garden or on the terrace when the weather is fine.  Two comfortable sitting rooms for relaxing in the magic quietness of the afternoon.

The house is surrounded by a large garden.  The 10 x 5m swimming pool is completely immersed in greenery and is open from May 15th.  Large terrace with tables and splendid views.

In the very heart of Chianti country, Ugolino is the birthplace of Italian golf, occupying its current site since 1933. A club rich in tradition. The front 9 swoops through the hills and shaping of shots will help. Back 9 is more level and offers some scoring opportunities. It is located along the Chiantigiana Road and over the years countless tournaments have been played on this golf course.

Le Pavoniere Golf and Country Club
 6137 m., Par 72. The course has been made more undulating with sensible earth filling, and is surrounded by holm-oak woods, by cluster pine and cypresses. Very long fairways, four tees for each hole are the features of the course. The greens are all about a thousand square metres wide and are very undulating. One of the most difficult holes is the 18th, a dog-leg to the right of over 400m, you can reach the greens in two ways: two safe strikes before the lake in front of the green or a long drive over the lake to the right of the tee, in order to reach the green more easily with the second strike.
