The original architectural structure of the Torre Maizza farm is at the centre of a large hillside estate overlooking the Mediterranean, and just 1.5 kilometres from the coast. Guests will find the farm set in a grove of age-old olive trees and can enjoy strolls through our orchards, vineyards and fields of other crops, where the air is scented with heady myrtle and delicate jasmine, mingling to create our estate’s typical Mediterranean fragrance. Torre Maizza is an ancient garrison, part of a defence line that crossed all of Apulia, from the Gargano promontory to “finibus terrae” as Santa Maria di Leuca was called. During the sixteenth century it served as a watchtower against the raids of Ottoman and Saracen Turks, and has now been converted into a refined, luxury 5-star resort. Local traditional hospitality, once extended to pilgrims and Benedictine monks, is now offered to our guests: an intense experience in a discreetly-scented land of ancient customs.

Rooms

Classic Superior
Under the cathedral vault ceiling, in typical white tufa dwellings, guests will experience the pleasure of life on a historic farm. Glimpses of the Mediterranean from the window, framed by the colours of the olive grove and the grassy scent of the green golf course are the scenario to be enjoyed from each small terrace. All rooms have en suite bathrooms with tubs, two armchairs so guests can enjoy breakfast in their rooms, and feature typical farmhouse furnishings, hand-painted in the traditional style. The SUPERIOR guestrooms are larger than the classic rooms and located in an enhanced position.

Junior Suite
A unique setting, complete with the romantic charm of a fireplace to conjure up local atmospheres. The junior suites feature white tufa stone blocks, a characteristic of the farm dwellings, and include comfortable, elegant armchairs under the cathedral vault ceilings, as well as relaxing whirlpool tubs, and a small terrace with loungers, for guests who choose to take some Apulian sun.

Our suites are the icon of our philosophy, the sum of ancient, genuine country values combined with the elegance and sophistication of a modern resort. Our white tufa buildings host guests in areas enhanced with every possible comfort. What better way to relax than in a dual whirlpool tub, or waking up to a lovely, fragrant breakfast, savoured from deep, plush armchairs? A terrace overlooking a green olive grove and the blue Mediterranean, the HEATED private pool, set in the suite's own garden: for a totally unique experience.

Restaurant
The pleasures of the table are important to us, so we ensure that our restaurant features all the outstanding qualities for offering an unparalleled sensorial experience. The view is of the ancient orange grove, the scent is of orange blossom, and the star of the moment is Mediterranean cuisine. A combination of tradition and creativity, attention to every detail in the inspired menu that includes a selection of the most genuine ingredients from our own organic fields and our region of Apulia, resulting in the delicious dishes on offer.

Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is surrounded by the garden's old columns: a stretch of water lapping teak decking.  Vines, olive trees and an ancient mulberry embrace the whirlpool facility, where HEATED water will guarantee sensorial indulgence both winter and summer, no matter whether our guest feels the cold or the heat.

Beach
Along a sandy beach we have built an exclusive lounge for our visitors, a quiet and refined place where you will enjoy the sun on beach mattresses, and benefit from bar services and snacks, boutique, massages, and fish restaurant - sushi and oyster bar. A private 14 mt yacht will bring you to Polignano a Mare caves and the ancient harbour of Monopoli, thus enjoying the pleasure of a safe swim in crystal-water coves.

Golf
Against a backdrop of almond trees, age-old olives, water features and the challenge of the undulating terrain, Coccaro Golf Club offers a nine-hole executive course for an unforgettable experience, due in no small measure to sea views at various points. The course is 1109 metres of nature and relaxation, 27-par with a driving range, putting green, pitching green and a bunker area for improving ability on sand.
