Charming Country Houses for rent near Lake Maggiore – Novara - Italy On the ridge of the hills between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta, in an eighteen-century park, the Sartori family built a modern, prestigious country house for their own family vacations. Now this house is available to families and groups wanting to spend a holiday in a roomy, comfortable, particularly charming house.

In the same park is a small nineteenth-century Castle built in neo-romantic style, fully renovated, facing the Italian-style garden, and an old Farmhouse called Casina Bianca, the “Little White House”. These are also separately available for short to medium term rentals.

Guests are advised that there is NO SMOKING in the houses.

VILLA Padronale

It is of course at the heart of the property, in terms of both position and importance; this is the country house the Sartori family traditionally came to on their holidays.

This elegant contemporary villa was completed in 1971. It measures about 250 square metres on each floor. The basement is a utility area, with a big two-car garage, two wine cellars and a furnace room, but it also contains one of the most popular rooms in the house: the tavern with its large fireplace and play area. The ground floor, "living area", includes the entrance hall, double living room, dining room, study, fully equipped kitchen, wardrobe, servant’s room and bathroom. The first floor has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms: master bedroom, accessed via a private anteroom, big bathroom with a shower and Jacuzzi.  There is also the Scotch room, Pink room, Blue room, red bathroom and brown bathroom
 
CASTELLINO
Overlooking the romantic garden, on three levels, for five or six people (about 70 square metres on each level).
“The small Castle”, is an old farm building, originally used as a stable as well as a home for farm hands, overlooking the old village square, Piazza Marconi. It has been converted into a charming, prestigious house that rises upwards to culminate in a turret offering a perfect spot for stargazing. It is composed of a basement with entrance off Vicolo Castello, containing wine cellars and a laundry room, a ground floor “living area” incorporating a living room, a small study, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom, overlooking its own little courtyard with a driveway and a parking space.  First floor with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a magnificent stone patio for basking in the morning sun
 
CASINA
Across from the main entrance, on two levels, for three or four people (about 70 square metres per level).
An old country house next to the driveway has been converted into Casina bianca, “the small White House”, with a separate pedestrian entrance and its own lovely arcade-veranda. The ground floor of this old farmhouse has a living room with a fully equipped kitchenette, while the first floor has two bedrooms exposed to the morning sun and a balcony right above the old pergola covered with grapevines, a bedroom with a small double bed and a large bathroom.

THE PARK
The lovely backdrop for the 3 buildings is a huge Park measuring almost 10,000 square metres, planted in the eighteenth century and skilfully designed to blend large green spaces, paths, viewpoints, pools, terraces,
There is a beautiful heated swimming pool used exclusively by the people staying in the 3 houses. It is 6,30 m. large, 12,60 m. long, with children’s slide and diving-board and solarium area.

GOLF

There are 5 golf courses within 50 km of Villa Gattico. Lake Maggiore is Italy’s second biggest lake, dividing the provinces of Varese, Novara and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola and bordering on Switzerland. All the golf courses in the Lake Maggiore area are set in a lovely landscape, and 5 of these are close to Villa Gattico

Circolo Golf Bogogno 5 km from Gattico, 36 holes Par 72 SSS 73.
The architect Robert von Hagge has designed two different courses of 18 holes par 72, combining the technical features of a top level course with the spectacular natural beauty of the surroundings.
The “Conte” course has the charm of the best links and Monte Rosa Peaks overlook it. The “Bonora” course winds out the typical vegetation of the Parco del Ticino; natural rivers characterize even more the course.
The courses are two exceptionally picturesque 18 hole courses which can prove to be very testing to both beginners and experienced players.

Golf Club Castelconturbia Agrate Conturbia (NO), 10 km from Gattico 27 holes Par 72 SSS 73.
There are three courses - Red, Yellow and Blue - and each one is equally challenging. The various degrees of difficulty depend on the tee off area which makes it possible for the high handicap player to also enjoy these courses.
