The house is attractively furnished and is ideally situated for playing the many fine courses in the area. Green fees are still very reasonably priced and courses not over played. Visitors can have their own lounge facilities in the house and for any non golfers arrangements can be made for visiting areas of local interest. All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and most individual requirements can be arranged. There are various areas for sitting out in the garden for relaxing with drinks and BBQ.

The house is situated in the pine forest of the National Park of Les Landes, South West France. The fabulous sandy beaches and rolling surf of the Atlantic Ocean is about 35 minutes away, Bordeaux and Biarritz are just over an hour's drive.

The area of Solferino has an historic association with Napoloean III and his wife Eugénie. The Ecomusée de la Grande Lande depicting the working history of Las Landes is a delightful 10 minute train journey into the forest from Sabres.

The area is perfect for the holiday maker or sports fanatic alike, and almost anything can be catered for, whether its walking, cycling or sailing on the lakes at Biscarrosse. For the golfers there are numerous great golf courses all within an hour from the house, with at least 4 within 45 minutes. Golfing holidays can be arrange to suit all playing standards. But if a more leisurely holiday is required then that is also possible.

The weather, with its micro climate, ensures a very pleasant ambiance from March onwards, with high temperatures during the summer months.

The PGA Qualified Golf Teaching Professional, Mr Gerry Morgan, will combine expert tuition with plenty of opportunity for practice and play whilst having fun and enjoyment so you can achieve the best out of your golf.

Golf Courses :

Moliets Golf Course
This remarkable course was laid in the pine forests of Les Landes (for 13 holes) and along the coast (5 holes). A typical Robert Trent Jones design, where the technical and strategic challenges reflect an in-depth knowledge of golf. While the more proficient golfer will find this a tough challenge, playing from the forward tees is funnily enough, often more conducive to error. The famous jagged bunkers are a remarkable form of defence for the greens, three of which are virtually blind, and the putting surfaces are neatly but never excessively contoured.

Seignosse Golf Course
Created in 1989 by the american architect, Robert Van Hagge, has a legendary layout,nestling in a wooded area of 70 hectares.
With a distance of 6124 m, over 18 holes, this par 72 will seduce even the most demanding of players. With it's fairways bordered by pine threes and various water obstacles, this beautiful course blends in perfectly with the surrounding " landaise " landscape, while the nearby ocean conjures up an incredible feeling of freedom.

Biscarrosse Golf Course
18 trous Par 68 - 5132 mètres
Close to the sea and Biscarosse Lake, a forest course for straight hitters. For the back nine a buggy is essential.

Gujan Mestras
Les Lacs - A short distance from the huge dunes at Pyla, this tough course has been carved out of the Landes pine forest. There are also plenty of water hazards and with the towering pines, island greens, and dazzling white sand of the bunkers, it's no wonder this has been likened to course typical to Florida, but in south west France. 18 holes. Par 72. 6,808 yards.
Les Pins - This easy walking 9 hole course is ideal for beginners or perfect for those looking for a bit of short game practice. 9 holes. Par 36. 3,159 yards. Woodland.

Arcachon
18 trous par 72 6014 m,
In a region of British tradition, architects Blandford and Pierre Hirigoyen laid out a subdued golf course, which embraces but never disrupts the hilly terrain on the front nine and the flatter holes around the back. The broken relief means that the second shot to a number of elevated greens is not leaving the driver in the bag.  Arcachon Golf Course is a short one , where precision is more often better rewarded then length off the tee.

Pessac Golf Course
6056 m, Par 72 and 9 hole course. Beautiful wide fairways bordered by pine trees and water hazards present an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities. This is an ideal spot for a relaxing golf holiday. Pessac provides the finest practice facilities in the region, with 90 bays including 10 indoor bays and 50 on grass, as well as putting greens and areas for chipping and pitching.
