A place for relaxation, or where you can indulge in activities to suit all ages and energy levels. A home offering all the comforts and conveniences of your own home - and maybe a few besides.
Set in the rural village of Sidlesham, 4 miles south of Chichester, Ivy Grange offers all this and more. A substantial period farmhouse, with more than 7 acres of lawned and wooded gardens, it is the perfect place for a family holiday.
Activities and sports abound. Ivy Grange's own facilities include a 32' swimming pool, a children's play area, and a fully equipped games room! Water-based activities include sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and beach activities. Horse riding, golf, cycling and wonderful walks are all available on our doorstep. Horse racing at Goodwood or Fontwell, the possibilities are endless...
Chichester Harbour, to the west, is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but is also a hive of activity. On the other side lies Pagham Harbour, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, internationally renowned for its bird- and plantlife. A paradise for walkers and bird watchers!
For heritage and history lovers, Chichester's architectural delights stretch back more than two millennia. Roman Fishbourne, maritime Portsmouth, and Tangmere's Military Aviation Museum all offer their own fascinating chapters of English history. Or follow in the footprints of King Canute to the foreshore at Bosham, where it is claimed that he tried to turn back the waves!
Arrive at Ivy Grange, and drink in the rural atmosphere. All around you are small roads, hedgerows and fields. Look North, take in views of the South Downs. Now relax, enter the garden and feel the peace of the countryside. In front of you are long lawns, peacocks, woodland.
Enter the house, warm and inviting. Through the front porch, into the hall, an elegant dining room containing an original Adam fire place; move into the larger hall, leading to the kitchen/breakfast room and utility room with everything for your everyday needs.
From the main hall the drawing room sits comfortably with its open fire. Move on to the family room, full of sofas and looking out onto the front lawn with its large patio for lounging on sunny days. Now step into the huge conservatory, with its large dining table, leading to its own patio and rear garden.
Games room, swimming pool and sun deck provide endless variations for activity or relaxation.
- ACCOMMODATION -
Our sleeping accommodation is on two floors:
On the first floor, master bedroom with en-suite shower room, a double room overlooking the main front garden, a twin bedded room and a further single room. A large family bathroom with power shower cubicle, spa bath, twin sinks, toilet and bidet. On the second floor, a large double room and a single room, both overlooking the main front garden. A large family bathroom with spa bath, shower and toilet. All our rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished and allow you to relax and enjoy your holiday.
- EATING AND LIVING AREAS -
Our large and versatile layout offers many possibilities:
The kitchen will probably rapidly become your family's hub, and is perfect for that purpose. Fully equipped, with a high open-beamed ceiling, its own dining table and granite worktops, it really is a home from home. Off the kitchen, the utility room provides all necessities.
The elegant dining room, with its feature Adam fireplace, is perfect for an intimate dinner. For larger parties, the conservatory contains a large dining table and its own patio. Dine the evenings away with conversation and laughter, and music to accompany.
- PLAYING AND RELAXING -
This is where Ivy Grange really comes into its own! Indoors, we have a games room with a 3/4-sized snooker table, a bar billiards table, a table tennis table and darts board. You can relax in the cosy lounge, with open fire and TV, or in the sun lounge, with TV and DVD.
Around the house are patios and lawns, with a 32' swimming pool and sun deck. The swimming pool is fully fenced. In the corner of the garden is a woodchip children's play area. The grounds of the property extend to around 7 acres, mainly lawns, mature trees and shrubs. We have some 5 acres of woodland, including a pond - courtesy of the Luftwaffe! Within the rear garden is an aviary, with two peacocks. An additional peacock roams free in the grounds

THE DOWNS COURSE: The 7104 yard course has running fairways, undulating greens and the dramatic changes of level in the Downland valleys and hills. Stunning views can be had over the Chichester Plain, the cathedral and beyond to the Isle of Wight from many of the challenging fairways.
THE PARK COURSE: An easy walking 6650 yard course that follows a route through woodlands and tree lined fairways with shots onto small greens demanding accuracy. The tricky dog legs and disguised bunkers make it a deceptively difficult course to play
Chichester Golf Club is one of the largest golf complexes in the South of England with its two 18-hole courses,driving range, 9-hole short course and crazy golf course. The two parkland courses are theTower course with generous fairways making a good score possible for all levels of golfers but watch out for the tricky MacKenzie greens, and the Cathedral course with one of the toughest front nine's around
Selsey Golf Course is a truly beautiful but testing 9-hole links type course. Situated next to the coast, with stunning views of the Downs as a back drop.
