Relax in peaceful surroundings in the picturesque, historic village of Stratton. We are close to the beaches at Bude and the coast path, and are ideally situated as a base for exploring Cornwall and Devon.

We have five spacious rooms, all en-suite and with free wi-fi access. Guests can make use of our comfortable lounge and licensed bar. We also have delightful, secluded gardens where you can relax and unwind.

We want you to enjoy the best of Cornish fare and our menus reflect this. We source all our milk, meat and eggs from local farms, and use locally grown produce wherever we can. All our food is freshly cooked to order.

We are fully licensed and are happy to serve drinks for consumption in the house or garden.

Only a couple of minutes' walk from Stratton Gardens is the recently renovated 13th century Tree Inn; it offers excellent food at reasonable prices and we can highly recommend its restaurant for evening meals. There are many other restaurants in Bude.

All rooms have hospitality trays with a range of Fairtrade teas including speciality and fruit teas and coffees, chocolate etc., digital tv, hairdryers and free wi-fi access

Superior rooms have Ipod Docks and DVD players with free access to a DVD library.

Guest accommodation includes a comfortable and spacious lounge, with open log fire, where there are books, newspapers, magazines and board games. We have a licenced bar where you can order a range of drinks. Local maps and walking books are also available for guests to borrow.

We hope that you will take time to stroll in our attractive, secluded terraced gardens where you can relax, sit or read and maybe enjoy a cool drink from the bar.

Bird lovers will enjoy watching the many visitors to our bird-table as well as the swifts and buzzards that regularly fly over the garden.

There is a private car park, with ample room, for residents' use at the side of the house.

Stratton is an ideal, peaceful base for a weekend break or a longer holiday. Not only does the immediate area have much to offer but also virtually anywhere in both Devon and Cornwall is within reach for a day trip.

Just a mile and a half away, Bude and its surrounding area contain some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the British Isles, much of it designated as an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" with a variety of wildlife habitats

Bude offers excellent opportunities for surfing - Crooklets Beach and Summerleaze Beach are both under two miles away, whilst Widemouth Bay is less than 5 miles. Further afield the famous surfing beaches of Newquay and Watergate Bay and, to the north, Croyde and Woolacombe, are all within easy reach.  Other watersports such as windsurfing, kayaking and sailing are available at the Upper Tamar Lake ( 5 miles).

We are only a short distance from the North Cornwall Golf Course in Bude where we have negotiated discounted green fees for our guests. We would be happy to book tee times for you on request. There is also a variety of other courses, both links and parkland, nearby.

Bude and North Cornwall Golf Course

The Bude & North Cornwall Golf Club (surrounded by the town and the sea) is a challenging links course established in 1891. Excellent drainage enables the course to be playable throughout the year off regular tees and greens, making it one of Cornwall's finest golf courses

Holsworthy Golf Club
The ever improving parkland course is challenging both for beginners and low handicap players. Teaching and practice facilities available from the professional. Full bar and catering facilities.

Launceston Golf Club
he elevated levels of Launceston Golf Club offer spectacular countryside views over both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, while in the foreground we have majestic views of our historic town and castle.  The club originates back to 1910 and is now a well established 6385 yard par 70 parkland course. It offers an excellent and challenging round of golf for all standards of golfers. 

Trethorne Golf Club
Trethorne Golf Course creates unique challenges demanding the skills of power, placement and fine judgement upon the discerning golfer.  The 18 holes are in a pleasant parkland setting with good views of the Cornish country side and distant views of rural Cornwall, magnificent panoramic views overlooking Launceston's Farm lands 

We are well situated to visit other Cornish attractions such as the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan, while the RHS garden at Rosemoor, Devon is less than 40 minutes' drive. The award winning Camel Valley vineyard near Wadebridge is equally accessible.
