Ernegg castle is situated on a hill of the Alpine foothills with a wonderful view to the Waldviertel.  In the "heart of Austria" is the only chateau an hour's drive from Vienna and two hours from Salzburg.

Although this romantic castle has been the family seat of the Counts
of Auersperg since 1656, it still maintains its original style. The castle provides unique holidays from a romantic rendezvous for two to a family break combining peace and quiet with a choice of activities for the more energetic in the party.

Let yourself be spoilt with traditional service in the relaxed atmosphere of the magnificent drawing rooms or enjoy some excellent wine in front of an open fire in the bar or on the terrace under the old copper beech tree.

The spacious and comfortable rooms are all individually decorated with antique furniture. You can also play at being the 'Lord of the Manor' by giving a medieval Banquet or you can book the whole of the castle for your wedding and private celebrations.

Schloss Ernegg is no ordinary hotel. It offers to the discerning visitor who likes  something a little different, the opportunity to live in an idyllic private castle.  Our guests enjoy a delicious, hearty buffet breakfast.

Golfers rejoice! Right out the door of this charming castle lies a 9-hole and an 18-hole golf course. Discounts are available for castle guests. Breakfast is included at the castle but for the rest of your meals you may either eat at the golf club, 400 meters below the castle.

The typically British course with its generous fairways, large greens, many bunkers and water hazards that have been placed demandingly as well as the Kleine Erlauf brook, which has to be crossed three times, ensures an exciting play - from the first tee-off to the very final hole.  The club restaurant offers set lunches at great prices. All those who want to try out golf have a public 9-hole course, par 36 2892m, at their disposal where you may play for a day fee of € 16 all day long.
