Frog Gully Cottages near Sale Golf Course, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia

Frog Gully Cottages can be found at Longford in Victoria, Australia, next to the Sale Golf Course. They are 2 ½ hours from Melbourne, and less than 10 minutes from the large country town of Sale.


There are two self-contained cottages designed to provide quality accommodation while taking full advantage of an elevated position over a superb wetland view. The cottages face north so provide a perfect view of sunsets and sunrises, and the mists that swathe the wetlands in autumn and winter.

There is abundant wildlife with many species of birds to be seen in the wetlands. The healthy population of frogs provides a symphony of sound through late winter, spring and early summer.

The cottages are both the same design. A central living area includes a compact but well-equipped kitchen, with living area embracing the spectacular view. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with twin king single beds, and both bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom, one of which features an easy-access shower, the other has shower over the bath.

A washing machine and small wash tub are tucked away behind bi-fold doors. An outside clothesline is provided.

There is a deck at the front with steps down to a barbecue and outdoor eating area.

Access to the cottages is by a ramp, and cars can park on a crushed granite parking area close to the back door.
The cottages have TV, DVD, ceiling fans, and a gas log fire heater.

The Sale Golf Course is next door to our property. Arrangements can be made for green fees and club hire. The Ninety Mile Beach is between 30 and 40 kms away and features several small beach towns.

The nearby town of Sale has vibrant street shopping and a shopping complex. Some features are:

Lake Guthridge & Lake Guyatt with a well maintained walking track round one lake or both, up to 2 kms.
The Port of Sale is an attractive area on the Sale Canal.
The Gippsland Art Gallery.
The Esso-BHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre which features visiting concerts and performances as well as displaying local talent.
Sale Common wildlife refuge with boardwalk.
Sale historical museum.
Gippsland Armed Forces museum.

Nearby towns include Stratford, Maffra, Heyfield, Rosedale, Seaspray, Loch Sport and Yarram.
